Union Pacific Quarterly Profit Falls 4%

(Reuters) – U.S. railroad operator Union Pacific Corp reported a 4% fall for its fourth-quarter profit on Tuesday, hurt by delayed shipments amid labor shortages and adverse weather conditions.

Its net income fell to $1.64 billion, or $2.67 per share, in the quarter ended Dec. 31, from $1.71 billion, or $2.66 per share, a year earlier. Analysts on average had forecast a profit of $2.78, Refinitiv IBES data showed.
